Software developer
Oleh Khokhlov
I'm a software developer in Lviv. Most of what I make is audio software, and I also work in QA.
The projects usually start the same way: I need a tool, it doesn't exist or it doesn't do what I need, so I build my own. Resonance is a spatial audio mod for RimWorld. It works out where each sound is coming from and what's between it and the listener, walls, doors, distance, and adjusts the volume and tone to match. OklyPlay is a soundboard for streamers that runs entirely from the keyboard. Earshot is a plugin that turns a coding agent's actions into short sounds, so you can hear what it's doing while you work on something else.
The other half of my work is testing, my own and other people's. I write C# features for RimWorld Access, and I spent most of 2025 doing QA on a charting tool called ChartIt. I focus on making bugs reproducible: finding the exact steps, locating the cause in the code, and writing it up so it can be fixed without a round of follow-up questions.
There's more detail in the case studies, one project at a time.
